Good weather at last

The weather returned to normal yesterday with lovely sunny days and views of the mountains. Everyone seems happier and the rice is ripening well.

I walk through this rice paddy on my way to school

Some of the rice has been harvested and is now drying in the sun

Yesterday was frustrating at school but today has been good. Hari, my co-ordinator from the village, came to talk to the staff about a proposed visit to see a well run primary school in Pokhara. Thankfully the Headmaster and teachers of the younger classes are enthusiastic about the trip.
I demonstrated how to use a hundred square to help when adding  numbers and that was successful.   It feels good to finish the day having achieved something positive.

An elderly man came to join us in the afternoon, and I learnt that he was Laxmi's grandfather.  Laxmi is the child in the red coat.   Although he doesn't look too happy he was delighted to have his photograph taken.  Many Nepalis feel strange smiling for a camera.

I walked home with Sangam and Boss and took the photo below of our shadows!   ( I am wearing a traditional Nepalese straw hat)

  3. I'm reading, but I don't want to comment on everything you put up here saying exactly the same thing!

"Looks amazing, I'm so glad you look like you're having a great time!"

    It's true of every post...
